Holy Shit

The other night, I bought tickets to see Onra. The first thing I did after was Instagram dat shit.

I first heard his music when I saw him at my favorite bar downtown. Since then, his music's been playing wherever I go; whether I'm at home, on my way to work, at work, or when I'm DJing after, it's always on. It's just so well thought out and put together, so naturally, I jumped on the chance to see him again. Anyway, I nearly shat myself when he liked and commented my picture. Yeah, I tagged him, but that was definitely unexpected.

Many years ago, I lived in a cute little house in the small town of Pleasanton, California. I planted seeds in the garden, played hopscotch on the front porch, found weird little bugs with the neighbors... I could go on. Growing up there was a dream.

One year, my parents bought me a Nickelodeon radio. Seriously, that thing was the shit. I'd blast it all day and dance around in my cubicle of a room. It drove my parents insane and I'm pretty sure they regretted buying me that radio. But anyway, one time, "Hypnotize" by Biggie Smalls song came on and immediately, I was in love... 

I remember as a kid singing, "...and I just love your flashy waist". At the time, I thought it was kinda cool that a rapper would have a "flashy waist". Several years later, "Hypnotize" continues to be one of my favorite songs and sometimes I still catch myself saying "flashy waist". It brings me back to my small-town home with my little Nickelodeon radio...

Have you ever gotten mad butterflies from hearing a certain song? That's how I feel about Body Stop's "Touch Sensitive" right now. I can't stop listening to it! It brings me back to that sweet, innocent, clean-lined home out in LA...
